My story has all the elements of a classic Russian novel: dark secrets, forbidden love, spying, living dangerously, and fighting for freedom against the totalitarian regime. It describes the journey of a Jewish woman growing up in Soviet Ukraine, where being a Jew was shameful and dangerous, and her eventual escape to the free world.
